Christmas hamper delivery in Melbourne can be easy to organise, even in December, when we are at our busiest. If you're wondering whether your gift will arrive before Christmas Day, the best thing you can do is order early and choose a delivery option that suits your timeline.

Christmas Day falls on Friday, 25 December 2026, so it's worth planning at least a month ahead rather than leaving your gift to the last minute. At Gift Hampers Melbourne, we offer standard, express and same-day delivery options to help you send something thoughtful to friends, family, colleagues and clients.

Christmas hamper delivery options in Melbourne

When you're sending a little something to a friend or organising gifts for your entire team, choosing the right delivery option could make or break your surprise. Here's how our delivery services work.

Same-day delivery in Melbourne Metro

Forgot to organise a Christmas gift? There's still an option worth checking.

Our same-day delivery service is available in selected Melbourne Metro areas for $24.95. Place your order by 10:00 AM AEST, Monday to Friday, to be eligible for delivery that day, subject to the service area, product eligibility and courier availability.

It's a handy choice when you've left a gift until the last minute, need a festive surprise delivered to a colleague or want to send Christmas cheer without making an extra trip to the shops.

Explore our same-day hamper delivery in Melbourne collection and check that your chosen hamper and delivery address qualify before checking out.

Refer to the end of this page for a complete list of Melbourne suburbs eligible for same-day delivery in Melbourne.

Please remember that same-day delivery applies only to selected metro areas. Delivery dates are estimates, so ordering early is still your safest option.

Express delivery

Need your hamper to get moving quickly? Express delivery costs $19.95, and orders placed by 4:00 PM AEST on business days leave our warehouse the same day.

Delivery is usually the next business day, although this isn't guaranteed. Courier schedules, seasonal demand and the delivery address can affect arrival times, particularly in December.

Express delivery may suit you if you've left your Christmas shopping a little late but still have some time before the big day. Just remember to allow extra time for regional and rural destinations.

Standard delivery

If you've planned ahead, standard delivery is a practical option for Christmas gifting. It costs $17.95, and your order leaves our warehouse within one to two business days.

Once dispatched, delivery timing depends on the destination and courier network. Rural addresses can take an additional one to two days, while products labelled “Special Order” may require up to two extra business days before they're ready.

For a relaxed Christmas shopping experience, we'd recommend choosing your hamper early and allowing plenty of time for it to arrive.

Looking for more flexibility? You can also explore our weekend delivery options and check the applicable terms before ordering.

Last-minute Christmas hampers that ship same day

Here are a few options to explore when you're short on time:

• Melbourne Chocolate & Cookies Christmas Hamper: A sweet choice for anyone who loves chocolate, biscuits and festive treats.

• Christmas Noel Melbourne Hamper: A cheerful Christmas gift box filled with seasonal goodies.

• Melbourne Christmas Snack Hamper: A mix of sweet and savoury treats for sharing over the holidays.

You can browse these options through our Christmas hamper collection and same-day delivery collection. Or read The Best Christmas Hampers in Melbourne for Every Budget [Insert Link] for more info.

A quick note for last-minute shoppers: Same-day dispatch doesn't automatically mean same-day delivery. Please confirm each product's eligibility for same-day delivery, make sure your recipient's address is covered and check the cut-off time before ordering. Products labelled “Special Order” aren't suitable for an immediate delivery requirement.

Sending a Christmas hamper outside Melbourne

Christmas is a wonderful time to reconnect with people, even when they're not nearby. If your friends, family or clients live elsewhere in Australia, we can help you send a festive surprise beyond Melbourne.

We ship Australia-wide via StarTrack, with delivery timing depending on the destination and courier network. Regional and rural addresses may need an extra one to two days, so it's especially important to order early if your hamper is travelling a longer distance.

For interstate gifts, we'd suggest allowing more time than you think you'll need. Christmas is one of the busiest periods for delivery networks, and unexpected delays can happen.

Before placing your order, double-check the delivery address and postcode, and review the latest shipping information. Planning ahead gives your gift the best chance of arriving in time for the celebrations.

Tips to help your Christmas hamper arrive on time

A little preparation can make Christmas gifting much less stressful. Keep these simple tips in mind when placing your order.

• Order before the final week. Delivery dates are estimates, and orders placed within a week of 25 December aren't guaranteed to arrive before Christmas.

• Check the recipient's details. Make sure the street address, postcode and contact phone number are correct.

• Consider a business address for office gifts. This can be useful when sending hampers to colleagues or clients, provided the recipient will be available during business hours.

• Think about Christmas shutdowns. If you're sending a gift to a workplace, check that someone will be there to receive it before the business closes for the holidays.

• Understand authority to leave. A courier may leave your hamper if it's safe to do so. If there's no suitable safe place, the parcel may be taken to the local Post Office.

• Avoid address errors. Redirection costs $9.95 for metro addresses and $19.95 elsewhere, and redirection can add 24–48 hours to delivery.

• Allow extra time for special orders. Products marked “Special Order” may need up to two additional business days before dispatch.

• Check the delivery service before paying. Confirm the cut-off, destination eligibility and any special conditions that apply to your chosen hamper.

Most importantly, don't leave your order until Christmas week if you can help it. Ordering early gives you more choice and more breathing room if delivery plans change.

Missed the cut-off? Send a Christmas eGift Card

Sometimes December gets busy, and that's completely understandable. If you've missed the recommended delivery window, you can still send a thoughtful gift without worrying about a parcel arriving late.

They're ideal for friends who live interstate, family members who are difficult to shop for or colleagues you suddenly realise you've forgotten to buy for. Your recipient can choose a gift that suits their taste, while you can relax knowing you've sent something thoughtful.

It's a simple way to share a little Christmas cheer, even when there's no time left for physical delivery.
